Paris

Here are a few pictures from our trip to Paris at the end of February. During the day the city wasn't too attractive since there were no leaves on the trees or flowers in bloom, but the evening came alive with lights and it was beautiful!

Smart Car
Notice there are no lane distinctions? Paris is not the city I'd choose to drive in - crazy business!

Mini Wagon Woody

(Can you tell Jim's in charge of the camera right now?)

The "unofficial" memorial for Princess Diana.

Again, Jim's handywork. Pretty good shot I'd say!

Notre Dame

Who else thought it was merely the name of a football team?

~

The Arch De Triumph

  • Napoleon had this arch built but unfortunately for him he died before he was able to march through it himself. When his remains were finally returned to the city it was then that he entered.
  • The tomb of the unknown soldier lays beneath the arch and there is also an eternal flame that burns.
  • A Nieuport fighter was flown through the Arc de Triomphe in 1919, three weeks after the victory parade as a salute to all the airmen killed in World War One.
  • In 1998 a drunk Mexican national soccer fan extenguished the flame by peeing on it. Afterwards he was arrested for public intoxication.

~

I have no idea what this is, but it's pretty.

Well, I guess that's Paris in a nutshell, huh?!

We're Still Here!

It's been a while, but we've been working on a new camera and have finally figured it out (we think!)
~

I'm sure she's watching something very interesting!

Jailee loves bathtime!

~

Not sure if anyone remembers Jailee's first picture in this basket, but we gave it to some friends who were expecting and thought we'd get one more second of use out of it!

~

Our first baby girl is still as beautiful as ever and is enjoying being a big sister!
