April Birthdays

Jailee and her two friends Jaycie and Sophie all share April Birthdays so we decided to have a fun day out to celebrate together.

Our first stop was the youth center for an Easter party - a week early.

Afterwards we headed to Build-A-Bear in Cambridge

Italy

The David
~

Hiya,....Jim and I were fortunate enough to travel to Italy for 4 days without the girls. His parents were here visiting and offered up their services so we took them up on it. Though we felt a bit guilty we realized that this was an opportunity that most likely wouldn't be afforded to us for a while. We were able to relax and enjoy ourselves. We flew into Pisa and then took a train to Florence where we stayed 3 nights. We enjoyed warmer weather than we've been experiencing in the UK but at times it was still a bit chilly.

The food was AWESOME!!! As you all know I'm a true foody, but Italian hasn't always been my favorite, until now that is. I'm on a mission to make my own pasta and sauce since this is what we experienced first hand and there's nothing better. The box stuff will only be used in case of emergency! :o) ha ha ha ha OR until what I make is actually edible!

This is the oldest remaining bridge,...now houses shops

Florence was spectacular,....lots of shops - mostly high end, but worth the look. The food as I've already said was great, and just being around the Italian community made me feel at home - if that's possible in another country. They are very welcoming, kind, and fun loving people.

We had to,....
~
The last day in Florence we left early so we could check out the leaning tower of Pisa before our flight home. Little did we know that the train only went to Central Pisa and not the airport as it had when we flew in. We stayed on the train and quickly realized this when the track detoured for the next town. Whew,...it was only about a 20min ride and then we jumped off, only to jump right back on because the train was now returning to Florence and would stop in Pisa. I have to admit we were a bit sweaty for a moment, but obviously things turned out quite well.

Baby Jaislyn

Well, it's been a while since anyone has heard from us - on blogger anyway! Jaislyn Louell Ottman was born Feb. 11, 2009 at 6:42pm GMT. She weighed in at 7lb 4.2oz and was 19"long. She is an excellent sleeper and quite the cuddle bug. Jailee is extremely excited about being a big sister and is a great helper. Here are some pics of our angels....
